I'm using the -connect parameter to connect to the host 23.23.246.5:443. I also see in the debug output the following errors:

socket select error 10022
socket select error 10022
socket select error 10022
socket select error 10022
socket select error 10022
socket select error 10022
socket select error 10022
socket select error 10022
trying connection 23.23.246.5:443 lastseen=0.0hrs
socket select error 10022
connected 23.23.246.5:443
send version message: version 60001, blocks=500, us=0.0.0.0:0, them=23.23.246.5:

sending: version (100 bytes)
socket closed
disconnecting node 23.23.246.5:443
socket select error 10022
socket select error 10022

How should I proceed troubleshooting this? I know I have basic TCP connectivity (can telnet) so firewalls aren't an issue.

Looks like the error went away, though it would be nice to understand how to troubleshoot p2p connections like this; especially when connecting to a client that has been ported to another language / OS – makerofthings7 Dec 19 '12 at 15:51
