Since there will be more bitcoins created in the future, there will be more users and more transactions as well. Therefore, in 20 years when the reward for mining is 10x lower then it is now, there will be many more transactions. This will reduce the difficulty significantly, allowing miners to complete more blocks and thus earning more in transaction fees. | |
