I was wondering what makes Ripple very fast(Transaction per seconds) rather than Ethereum and Bitcoin? Currently, I'm doing a research on how to reduce transaction confirmation time in blockchain.

Is it because Ethereum and Bitcoin has mining activity and that's why the transaction time becomes very long compared to Ripple? I tried to find technical answer about it, maybe because of the algorithm used(?), maybe because the process to verify transaction in Bitcoin is longer than Ethereum(?) and so on but I couldn't find about it. From what I had already searched, the process from transaction to verification of Ethereum and Bitcoin is the same so where's the technical difference that makes Ethereum able to process transaction more in second than Bitcoin?
