I'm making an Arduino hardware wallet, I'm curious about best security practices for storing the mnemonic phrase. Would it be better to encrypt it then let the user view it with the pin. Or store a hashed version, then allow the user to test it by inputting it similar to what Ledger does. Thanks.

  • Do you want the user to be able to check that they didn’t forget their mnemonic? Since I presume you already have the master key generated by the mnemonic, can’t you just calculate the master key and compare it to the one you have? – Mike D Jun 19 at 0:21
