Good day.

I have an old Bitcoin wallet with 0.14 in, I only wrote down the identifier when I created it. I am pretty sure the password contains part of my generic password I use for most websites. So I am going to try some services I have seen for bruteforcing the wallet.aes.json file using combinations of my 'usual' password.

The problem I am having is that I do not know how to identify the json data, and I do not know which format it should be saved in for me to create the wallet.aes.json file.

I do not have my mnemonic phrase (Did not write it down) or my wallet.dat file, There is no email linked to my blockchain.info account either

Here is an example of the link I am using: https://blockchain.info/wallet/WALLETIDENTIFIER?format=json

To summarise, I would like assistance creating a wallet.aes.json file using my identifier so that I can help recover my password. Please explain it to me like I am 5, Thanks in advance

  • I'll have a look at your question properly, but until I get time to answer it, perhaps btcrecover would be a better option? – Wizard Of Ozzie Jan 14 '16 at 14:36
  • did you figure this out? – user1807271 May 19 '17 at 23:02
