Bitcoin nodes use to communicate with each other. You can disable incoming connections on your node if you don't like that (set listen=0 in bitcoin.conf).

Now i like to know if this is the only setting one must adjust to totally isolate her full node from other incoming/outgoing communications? Or are there any other steps u should take in addition to closing 8333?

Intention is: That the fullnode only interacts with ur own EPS server.

  • With communicate, do you mean send commands to it? Or also any peer-to-peer connection? The second will be impossible on anything other than regtest as you will need to download blocks from a source node in the network. – guggero Jan 16 at 12:04
